Croatia on the coast
Croatia’s coast is walkable and fun. Staying near Baška Voda put us right in the middle of it. Picture dramatic cliffs diving into the bluest water you’ve ever seen, sunshine that somehow lasts all day, and towns that look like they were designed for a movie set. Every drive along the coast felt unreal, VERY steep & charming houses stacked along the cliffs.
We explored nearby favorites like Brela, Makarska, Omiš, Zadvarje, and even hopped over to Brač, and each spot had its own personality. Brela was calm and crystal clear, Makarska was lively and buzzing, Omiš brought the adventure vibes, and Brač delivered that island glow, quiet bays, turquoise water, and total slow-down energy. Our last day was fun with a rain storm & beautiful stormy pictures at the end of the blog post. We ran through flooding streets and bellied up for cocktails and lunch.
But honestly? Our Airbnb host deserves a standing ovation. Not only was the rental stunning (hello, private cliffside pool), but they also took us out on the Adriatic Sea for a full-on sightseeing adventure. We cruised past the coast, explored hidden little bays near Brač and Omiš, swam in water so clear it felt fake, and soaked up the kind of moments you don’t plan, you just get lucky enough to experience.
Croatia’s coast is charming, warm, and wildly beautiful. Between the sea, the cliffs, the people, and the unforgettable views, it’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer… or at least start planning your return before you’ve even left.
