Isletwald Switzerland
Iseltwald, Switzerland in mid-September feels like a postcard brought to life. Our AirBnB was down the street from the turquoise waters of Lake Brienz. The lakes glow against the mountain is so clear and vibrant no matter the weather. The village itself is charming and quiet, with colorful window boxes and flowers spilling from nearly every balcony, adding warmth to every stroll. Everything you look at could be turned into a painting.
This walkable gem has the perfect amount of small pubs, all with great views and lovely local staff. The people are welcoming, the food is comforting and fresh, and everything feels thoughtfully cared for, from the spotless streets to the peaceful lakeside paths. Scenic trails also weave through the lake towns, offering jaw-dropping views at every turn, while winding roads hug the hills and make even the drive an experience visiting neighboring lake towns. Iseltwald is small, serene, and undeniably beautiful. One of those places that makes you slow down and savor every moment.
